I love OXO. Easy cleaning. They are extremely easy to take apart and put back together when you clean them. The OXO Good Grips POP storage containers are a must for everyone!!!
Great for kitchen scrap compost August 29, 2010

I have been looking for a container to fit underneath my kitchen sink to store all the kitchen scrap I accumulate for composting and I finally found it! It is just perfect for that! It doesn't take to much space because it's only 5.25 inch wide X 5.25 in and it is 12.5 inch high including the cover. The cover is really special as you only have to press on the big button in the middle to open it and hold it in one hand (with two fingers) and put the food with your other hand in the container. So I just open the cabinet door press on the cover, lift and put the stuff in with the other hand and voila! By pressing down on the big button on the cover it seals the top to the rest of the container which is great for kitchen scrap as it leaves the odor in and not out. I live in a warm climate and we must be careful about aunts in the kitchen. Well this does not attract them at all as I haven't seen any more than usual! This is a wonderful product for someone who does its own compost! I am very happy with it and I am sure you will too! It is a bit expensive but very worth it! Hopefully the seal button will keep working long term! I had mine now for over six months!

My old canister set was round, with screw tops, and the 2 largest canisters were awkward for me to hold and open with my arthritic hands - also heavier because they are glass. I bought the 2 large OXO canisters - for flour & sugar. Now I just slide one forward, press the button on top and lift the lid off. When through I replace the lid, press the button and slide it back into place. Amazing what pleasure such simple things bring - and they look really good on the counter.
The first thing my husband said - was 'don't use metal scoops - it will scratch the plastic' - so I had to replace my beloved, 'semi-antique' metal scoops with 2 plastic ones. Still - a small price to pay for such secure ease of use.

I have been looking for canisters that are easy to open and easy to handle. The OXO Good Grips are just what I've been looking for. The pop top is very easy to open and close. They also look nice on my counter top.
