I would have rated this Thermos travel mug five stars had it not been for the lousy paint application on an otherwise outstanding product. The midnight blue coating has started to peel off after only a few weeks of use and careful hand washing in only warm water and mild detergent (the instructions say it can be washed in a dishwasher, but I would not recommend it). I would have preferred just the uncoated stainless steel finish to the mess now covering the mug. Aside from that, the mug is very well made, attractive and keeps liquids hot for over ten hours (honest!). I would recommend this travel mug with the caveat that the pretty blue finish might not be there very long.

Actually good for both cold and hot liquids, read coffee and beer....... above everything else this is a TRULY NON SPILL MUG. glad the Thermos brand is still a name you can trust.

Most of the other reviewers have said it all already. I just wanted to second everyone's comments on this mug. I've been using it for about a week now and this is the best insulated mug I've owned. After 4-5 hours my coffee is still piping hot. I have some other travel coffee mugs and this is leagues above them. Very solid and well built.

I am someone who runs around almost daily to various coffee shops with a backpack, large bucket purse, laptop and some kind of beverage container. I have spilled whatever I'm drinking innumerable times. It had gotten so bad that despite being in the midst of an overwhelming work crunch, I had to pause to shop for something leakproof which really annoyed me. I read the reviews on Amazon and decided to go for it without the conviction that this would actually be a solution. But it was/is! I ordered two because I thought I would use one for coffee and the other one just for water. When they arrived, one of them did not seal properly and leaked but one of them worked perfectly. Amazon's return/exchange procedure is so easy and prompt with great communication, etc. When I got the replacement, I ended up giving it to my primary care physician because he's a saintly and busy guy who minimally deserves a well-designed, attractive leakproof travel mug. I've had this item for about three months. It performs as described for cold or hot drinks. It's amazing how the little things in life like this can make such a big difference. One less worry in this hectic existence we live. I'll get around to getting a second one for myself when I order one or two more as gifts. Very satisfied with the product and Amazon's customer service.
